I was born on July 1st, 2007 at 9:57 pm at Mon General Hospital. I surprised Mum and Dad a bit by being 19 days early! I weighed in at 2.99 kg or 6 pounds and 9.5 ounces! Here's a couple of snaps of me bedding down for my first night outside the womb...
Day two was just as good. I got to meet my big brother Callum and Uncle Terry. Mum's been with me all the time here and Dad's been getting ready for me and Mum to come home. I've been a very calm baby so far and have started drinking milk really well.
On my third day, I got to come home to Morgantown and got to meet my Grandmom. We all had a fairly restless night until Mom realized (at 4 am) that I will sleep just fine in my crib if I am swaddled really well.
Day four also coincided with Independence day. We all had a low key time at home. It was a hot day, but we went for our first family walk. Unfortunately most of the places we stopped at were all closed for the holiday. I slept through the whole thing. At night I got to sit out on our front porch while we barbecued veggies on the grill.
On day five I had my PKU test and tagged along on an exciting trip to Target. Mum and Dad had to buy me some new clothes, as nothing they had was small enough to fit me. All my new clothes are even a little bit big!
On day six I had my first check up with Dr. Jacobic. He gave me a clean bill of health and informed us that I'd regained my birth weight! He also pointed out that I make milk of my own - much to Mum and Dad's amazement! Uncle Terry left today, but I'm still getting lots of attention from Mum, Dad, Callum and Grandmom.
I made it through my first week! Today we went for a walk in the Arboretum. I love hanging out in my sling and going places with Mum. We're getting into a good routine and I'm a pretty good sleeper at night...but how long will it last?
